From the spring of 2008 involved 14 of the county's 15 municipalities in a county coordination on mediation in penal matters.

At Regional cooperation council of Dalarna is a county coordinator with the task to act as a resource for municipalities' own mediation activities. The County Coordinator's mission is to have overall responsibility to coordinate, streamline and develop mediation in crimes in Dalarna.

Mediation work is done in each municipality. How these organizations look like differ from municipality to municipality. The County Coordinator shall be in close contact with municipalities, police Dalarna, the House prosecutors, probation and other key cooperation partners work to Dalarna municipalities in a fair and safe manner provides for arbitration by reason of the breach.
