A continuous competence in responding to industry and government needs is crucial to the region's competitiveness. Questions about future skills and workforce will be extra focus, with the major changes in the labor market that we face.
Dalarna is first out of the country for the great generation where a large group of people born in the 40s, will retire. Thus expected labor shortages occur. There is also a matching problem which means that skills can disappear with the generation that leaves the world of work.
Another challenge is to resolve the situation for the large mounds of youth who leave high school 2009-2010, while we have the current recession and in the near future an expected labor shortage.
Regional cooperation council of Dalarna are working to create networks, forums and venues where we can gather all good forces to work effectively. The long term goal is a regional framework for skills issues specific to Dalarna.
Teknikcollege & Personal care and college
Some of the developmentwork that Regional cooperation council of Dalarna has supported, has meant that Teknikcollege and the carecollege have been certified. The college is working continuously to also reach local certifications in their respective fields.
