Cooperation with other countries and regions are important for business, capability and cultural exchange. It also provides useful knowledge about how people in other parts of the world handle possibilities and problems. New ideas and thoughts can result in creative solutions for the challenges we face. The funds and programs, along with the support through ICLD (International centre for local democracy) make it possible for people to cooperate, and also it make sure that development project can be done.
The regional cooperation council of Dalarna is working with a high level of competence in EU-issues through information and education. It´s also shows the opportunities to participating in European/international networks, and monitor the interest of the county in the European Union.
The primary function is to work with project supports, to help the owner of a project to find financing, and be a helping hand when applying for the project. Advice is given through a transnational office of project, where The regional cooperation council of Dalarna is interact with Samarkand 2015, and Teknikdalen.
The regional cooperation council of Dalarna is also a network with international correspondents from municipalities and county operators. These parties meet a few times at year, and the regional cooperation council of Dalarna is participating.
As a part of the internationalization, The regional cooperation council of Dalarna is also taking part in cooperation with the county of Gävleborg and Örebro, around a representation in Bryssel, Central Sweden, and also in AER, (Assembly of European Regions) attending their committee for regional issues of development.
